Wait, so form your posts it seems like most plastics aren't recyclable. I throw pretty much all plastics in the recycling - what happens to that plastic once it reaches the plant?

Hey Hora! When I list my plastics as recyclable or non-recyclable, that's based on what's recyclable in Winnipeg. So it might be different in Vancouver. I know in at least some parts of California you can recycle almost anything plastic. In Winnipeg, anything that can be classified as a "plastic bag" is no good, unfortunately. As for stuff that you put in the recycling that isn't recyclable, I imagine it just gets thrown in the garbage.

Hrm.. that's interesting. I just looked up what I can recycle here in Burnaby:

Looks like I can recycle a lot of stuff, including plastic bags. Didn't know that I can't recycle milk cartons though, I guess I'll try to buy plastic milk jugs from now on.

No milk cartons? That's unfortunate. It's nice that plastic bags are recycled there, though. (Though it would be better if they were simply phased out.)
